  • Mission

Our mission is to grow Nordic Walking across North America by building local clubs, certifying instructors, and organizing competitions and events for all ages and abilities. As a key initiative, our first U.S. national team will travel to the Open European Championships in Lahti, Finland in September 2025, complete INWA coach training, and return as trainers of trainers--accelerating the spread of Nordic Walking nationwide. Volunteers may also have the opportunity to join the national team.

    About Us

North America Nordic Walking Association (NWANA) is the exclusive representative of International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA) in the United States. We unite people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities through Nordic Walking-organizing community events, leading free training sessions, and supporting local clubs nationwide. Our focus is on healthy lifestyles, social inclusion, and opportunities for veterans, seniors, youth, immigrants, and people with disabilities. We’re building a national team of certified instructors and preparing the first U.S. national team for the 2025 European Open Championships in Lahti, Finland. We always welcome new volunteers ready to make an impact.
