    About Us

The BC Bereavement Helpline (BCBH) is a non-profit, provincial organization dedicated to providing compassionate support, advocacy, and education for individuals and communities grieving the death of a loved one. Since 1988, we have served thousands across British Columbia through our free Helpline, grief support groups, and specialized training for professionals and volunteers working in the bereavement field.

We believe that no one should have to grieve alone. Our core values are empathy, accessibility, inclusivity, and community care. We offer grief support tailored to various types of loss, including suicide loss, homicide loss, substance use loss, and pet loss. Our volunteers and team members are trained to offer trauma-informed support and referrals that connect people with the right resources at the right time.

Whether it’s answering a Helpline call, facilitating a grief support group, or delivering grief education in the community, everything we do is grounded in compassion and a deep respect for the unique experiences of those we serve.

At BCBH, we are proud to foster a warm, supportive, and inclusive environment for our team, volunteers, and those seeking support.
