About Us

Cooperative Development Research Action Centre (CODERAC) is an independent non-governmental Organisation established in May 1994, to reduce the wide gap existing among cooperative societies (micro-credit organization) arising from genuine aspiration of the members and the realistic limitation of capacity foisted by adapted model of development and adjusted programmes of government. It is registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission as a Non –Governmental Organisation promoting good governance by encouraging economic independence through the use of micro-credit finance operation among cooperative societies and community-based organizations for poverty reduction. It undertakes research to unearth better ways of provision and pro motion of friendly environment for sustainable rural development, good health, social and economic security of the poor in Nigeria through policy advocacy and micro credit administration. The Centre has over one hundred (100) cooperative societies affiliated to it as target groups with each society having about 120 persons as members, that is, a total of 12,000 people.

CODERAC is currently the micro-credit institution (MFI) for UNDP/Oyo State micro-credit scheme operating in fourteen (14) local government areas with 160 groups.
