Since 1983, the University of California Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation has studied the causes of international conflict and devised options for resolving it through international cooperation. IGCC's unique structure as a multi-campus research unit (MRU) enables research teams to be drawn from all nine UC campuses and the UC-managed Lawrence Berkeley, Lawrence Livermore and Los Alamos National Laboratories. The Institute provides key links between UC research and U.S. and foreign governments, foreign policy institutes, and other organizations from around the globe.
