About Us

Hello! At Marycrest Assisted Living, we are looking for volunteers to come and help improve our residents’ quality of life, and help our staff with daily tasks. Our Assisted Living Center is a loving, friendly, and caring place to volunteer. Our residents will be extremely thankful for any amount of time that you can dedicate to them. Our Residences Marycrest Assisted Living is a nonprofit organization that offers affordable housing alternatives for those who need assisted living. The Serenity Residence is designed for adults age 55 and older, while the Harmony Residence is reserved for younger adults with disabilities that prevent them from living.

Our Mission Marycrest Assisted Living is a legacy of the Sisters of St. Francis. We provide compassionate and comprehensive services in a comfortable and dignified environment for persons with disabilities and for seniors. By serving those most in need we honor and maintain the mission of our founders.

Volunteer Positions Time commitments can be flexible; we appreciate our volunteers and gladly accept assistance when available.

We welcome individuals who are looking for field experience, need to meet academic requirements, or who just love helping others.

We hope with our wide variety of volunteer positions, individuals with any kind of experience or interests will feel encouraged to volunteer.

All volunteers must clear a background check which will be conducted by Marycrest after receiving an application.

Volunteer positions include the following:

Caring Companion- Harmony Our Harmony Residence is the only assisted living community in Colorado dedicated to addressing the care needs and social issues unique to adults ages 20-55 whose disabilities prevent independent living. We are looking for caring individuals to take the time out of their busy lives to spend one on one time with our residents. This position can make a big difference in our resident's lives and we hope to yours as well. Time can be spent conversing, playing a game, going for a walk, escorting a resident to a meal or activity, or reading to one or more of our residents.

Caring Companion- Serenity Our Serenity Residence is home to 90 senior adults who require assistance or supervision with daily activities which prevent them from living independently. We are looking for caring individuals to take the time out of their busy lives to spend one on one time with our residents. This position can make a big difference in our resident's lives and we hope to yours as well. Time can be spent conversing, playing a game, going for a walk, escorting a resident to a meal or activity, or reading to one or more of our residents.

Volunteer Office/Administrative Assistant We our looking for individuals to come in and help our busy office staff with their daily tasks. These tasks include answering phones, filing, making copies, faxing, data entry, and greeting guests and residents. We would appreciate assistance during the work week to relieve receptionists for their lunch breaks in the afternoon, and on days when staff attends mandatory meetings. We would especially appreciate help during the first and last weeks of the month.

Set dates that we will need assistance from 1:30pm to 3:30 pm to relieve staff for meetings: April 6th September 21st May18th November 2nd June 29th December 14th August 10th

Dining Hall Volunteer During meal-times we strive to make mealtimes enjoyable for residents. We provide three meals a day to our residents with two different seating times for each meal. We are looking for individuals to help our kitchen staff to prepare and serve food to our residents.

We will need assistance for the following times: Breakfast- 7:00 am Until 9:30 am Lunch- 11:00 am until 1:30 pm Dinner- 4:00 pm until 6:30 pm

Facility Maintenance Volunteers We our looking for individuals to assist in the upkeep of our residences. Volunteers in this position will directly work with our maintenance department to help with daily tasks such as landscaping, cleaning, power washing, data entry, and painting.

Activity Leader One of our goals at Marycrest Assisted Living is to provide a physically and mentally stimulating environment for our residents. We provide daily activities which promote education, socializing, and healthy lifestyles. We are looking for individuals to assist and lead these activities. Activities are run throughout the day and last about a half an hour to an hour each. We ask that volunteers arrive early to help set up activity and stay to clean up. Our current activities which we need help with are group discussions (current events, health lifestyle topics, religion, etc.), exercise groups (chair stretching, walking, tai chi, etc.), arts and crafts, games (Wii, card games, madlibs, etc). We welcome creativity, new ideas and help preparing activities.
