About Us

The Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration (TSPPPA) in the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences (CCAS) is a focal point for public affairs education, research, and public service at The George Washington University. Building on a rich tradition of education for public service and on its location in the nation's capital, just a few blocks west of the White House, The George Washington University offers a superior education for students wishing to pursue public affairs oriented academic programs.

TSPPPA degree programs include the Master of Public Administration (MPA), including a JD/MPA joint degree program; the Master of Public Policy (MPP), including a JD/MPP joint degree program and MPP/PhD in Political Science dual degree program; the PhD in Public Policy and Administration; the Certificate in Non-Profit Management.

Throughout Columbian College, our doctoral, master’s and graduate certificate programs offer a transformative experience, connecting students with some of the most influential leaders and institutions while partnering with public and private organizations in the nation’s capital and around the globe. Our graduate students are prepared for academic and professional advancement through an education steeped in rigorous scholarship and practical application.
