LIAA IS AN INDEPENDENT NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT SERVES OUR ARTS AND CULTURAL COMMUNITY ACROSS LONG ISLAND
Our mission is to provide vision and leadership to support thriving and diverse arts on Long Island, and this is done through initiatives that engage and promote the arts across Nassau and Suffolk Counties, benefiting our local artists, arts organizations, public schools, and our communities. In addition, we serve as an advocate for arts education in our schools and collaborate on strategies for economic development and community revitalization.
Long Island Arts Alliance was formed in 2003, with the goal of creating an island-wide cohort of not-for-profit arts organizations to actively address the challenges facing the arts community and communicate the economic impact the sector has on our region. Today, our membership boasts over 120 of the island’s arts and culture organizations, and creative businesses that include a diverse range of disciplines, budget, and geographic representation.
