  • Mission

Latino Community Services' mission is to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Latino community and other at-risk populations and improve the quality of life and health of people with HIV/AIDS.

    About Us

In 1986, Hartford-area Latinos with HIV/AIDS, social workers and community members began organizing support groups for individuals recently diagnosed with HIV. As the epidemic spread and more Latinos became infected, these organizers started advocating for culturally-appropriate HIV/AIDS programs and services. Out of these initiatives and leadership, Latino Community Services (originally known as "Latinos Contra SIDA") was born.
