Relational Center

Our mission is to serve as a catalyst for empathic, diverse, sustainable community in Los Angeles and beyond. We assume that human beings have a fundamental need to strive together in collective action. In fact, the more we try to overcome complex problems by ourselves, the more we suffer. Our hope lies in our capacity to depend on each other and share responsibility for sustaining ourselves, our families, our environments, and our futures.

The Relational Center deepens and expands communities by teaching strategies people can use to build a movement that reverses the effects of social isolation. We offer mental health services, organizational consulting, support to form community action networks, and assistance hosting public dialogues.

When bridged with wider community action in the framework of a broad social movement for sustainability, our work can effect profound social and political change. We envision a transformed social landscape with thriving networks of diverse, healthy relationships that sustain individual resilience.
