WikiMed, a non-profit organisation is pioneering a new approach to saving lives, empowering people with targeted medical knowledge. We aim to provide patients throughout the world with a diagnosis and then with robust medical decision trees to provide education about possible treatments. Such information will be particularly valuable in regions where access to primary care is limited. Proprietary software will enable both the diagnostic agent and decision trees to be tailored to local populations and accessed in their local language. Such diagnosis and treatment pathways will empower patients around the world with critical information. By bridging the gap in knowledge between the patient and proven treatments, WikiMed will save lives – particularly in the developing world where many children who die, currently do so at home without seeing a primary care provider. WikiMed aspires to save thousands of lives per annum by 2025. Operations will be coordinated from Lisbon and London.
