Opening September 2007 under the leadership of Headmaster Eric Widmer, King’s Academy is a progressive coeducational school (600 students in grades 9-12) integrating the New England boarding school experience in the historical and intellectual context of the Middle East. The Academy will follow an English-language, AP curriculum in grades 9-12 and be distinguished by its progressive pedagogy; emphasis on community and personal values; cutting-edge use of technology in and out of the classroom; and its beautiful 144-acre campus.

In its first year, King’s Academy will accept students into 9th and 10th grade, adding the 11th and 12th grades in 2008 and 2009, respectively. The school will ultimately have a student body of 640, with students coming primarily from throughout the Middle East. Exchange programs with leading independent preparatory schools in the U.S. are also being established.
