The WHEELS Museum preserves and shares the history of transportation, with a special focus on the Santa Fe Railroad. Our collection includes historic wagons, automobiles, bicycles, airplanes, model cars, and model trains, along with countless other artifacts that showcase how transportation has shaped Albuquerque and the Southwest.
We are volunteers committed to the preservation of the railyards of Albuquerque, specifically the repair shops & buildings formerly owned by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad. We are also dedicated to preserving historic articles pertaining to transportation and the history of Albuquerque. In addition, we create engaging experiences for children and families through model trains, cars, and other hands on activities.
