Sonia's Faith in Action

Sonia’s Faith in Action is a family-founded, faith-driven nonprofit organization rooted in compassion, community, and service. Inspired by the life and legacy of Sonia Lindsay, who dedicated her years to caring for others even while battling cancer, we carry forward her mission of love in action. Our organization serves children, families, individuals experiencing homelessness, and caregivers affected by cancer—meeting both practical and emotional needs through outreach, mentorship, and hope.

From our Blessing Bag Initiative, which provides meals and hygiene essentials to unhoused neighbors, to Sonia’s Circle of Care that uplifts caregivers of those facing cancer by offering meal deliveries, encouragement packages, and resource connections. Every act of service is guided by our belief that compassion can restore dignity and remind every person they are seen, valued, and loved.

We believe service transforms not only the lives of those we serve but also those who serve alongside us. Through our Youth Committed to Change (YCC) program, we’re cultivating the next generation of compassionate leaders—young adults ages 18–30 who are leading local and international service projects in Maryland and beyond.
