First United Methodist Church of Seattle
First United Methodist Church of Seattle is a progressive spiritual community advocating for the homeless and hungry, and creating a refuge of inclusive Christianity. Founded in 1853, First Church has been tending the soul of the city for over 150 years. Along with worship, music, groups, and kid's programs, we houses 60 men in our emergency men's shelter. In 2010 First Church won a Partners In Ministry award from the Compass Housing Alliance for the hands-on work congregation members do in the shelter. First Church also holds a weekly Shared Breakfast for the hungry.
