About Us

Luther Place Memorial Lutheran Church is a church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Located on Thomas Circle in Washington, DC, Luther Place is focused on a mission of hospitality. It is the founding church for a number of Washington DC social justice organizations, including N St. Village, which provides a continuum of care for homeless and formerly homeless women; the Lutheran Volunteer Corps, which provides volunteers in nine cities across the country the opportunity to live simply, in a community and work for justice. Luther Place holds two Sunday morning worship services and a Sunday School program attended by about 150 members and visitors. It also hosts a variety of church and community meetings during the week.
