About Us

The Gulf Coast Fund for Community Renewal and Ecological Health is a grantmaking institution that supports progressive movement building in the Gulf Coast region. The Fund operates as a Special Project of the Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. Developed in 2005 following the disasters of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Fund has disbursed over $2.7 million to over 140 organizations working on a wide range of issues in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Texas. As of April 2009, it was decided that the Fund would expand to Florida to cover the full region that borders the Gulf of Mexico.
