Northfield Community Local Development Corporation (LDC) of Staten Island, Inc. is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1978. Northfield Community LDC’s mission and values have been integral to attracting and retaining employees. Our trusted employees enjoy a work culture that values working in partnership with each other and at the same time respects and encourages autonomy. 

The mission of Northfield Community LDC is to enhance the quality of life within the community through: 

• Development of affordable housing 
• Rehabilitation and improvement of the existing housing stock 
• Energy conservation improvements and testing for health and safety in buildings 
• Promotion of economic development 
• Support of home buyer and foreclosure prevention efforts 

Northfield Community LDC provides client-focused and diverse services to Staten Island’s most vulnerable low-moderate income residents. One of our signature projects has been the conversion of a land-marked, 100-year-old plus elementary school building into 43 units of affordable senior housing. The fact that we provide a home for seniors to live in peace and dignity is our most important goal.
