Morrison Child and Family Services is a non-profit organization providing a continuum of informed trauma-informed, culturally responsive programs and services for youth and families in residential, shelter, foster care, respite, outpatient clinic, community & school-based prevention & family preservation services. As one of the largest mental health and substance use recovery services in Portland, Oregon, serving 7,000 youth and expanding into the state of Washington, our goal is to promote a vibrate culture of self-care, creativity, and overall resilience that contribute to the success of our youth and families.
We were founded in 1947 by Dr. Carl Morrison and a group of citizens and physicians committed to providing services for children, today this legacy continues. As a leading mental health and substance abuse recovery organization, we are committed to equity, inclusion, and anti-racist practices; we are a Joint Commission Accredited Sanctuary Organization, modeling and applying the Eight Commitments: Nonviolence, Emotional Intelligence, Social Learning, Democracy, Open Communication, Social Responsibility, Growth and Change and Equity. We utilize these commitments as a framework for treatment planning, community conversations and collaborative decision-making which allow us to focus on the most important aspects of helping people heal from trauma and celebrate success.
We offer a multitude of benefits and invest in staff by providing training, coaching, internships, annual wage increases and continuous professional growth and leadership opportunities. Morrison seeks caring, committed, and compassionate staff to serve and support our clients with the values of equity, anti-racism, and trauma-informed care. If you want to positively impact children and family lives, we encourage you to join our team and read more about our services and career opportunities at Morrisonkids.org
