A private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, Pacific Clinics has been providing behavioral healthcare services since 1926. With community-based programs for children and adolescents, transitional-age youth, adults, older adults and the homeless, Pacific Clinics now has more than 77 service locations in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties. The agency incorporates family-friendly, strengths-based models into its programs and services. Pacific Clinics has been guided since 1980 by President/CEO Susan Mandel, Ph.D., who has overseen its growth from an $800,000 annual budget to over $96 million. Independent audits indicate that 83% of all monies received by the agency go to serve clients.
Type of Services: Levels of treatment vary according to individual situation and may involve group, family, rehabilitation and recovery services as needed for children, adolescents, adults and older adults. People with biologically based disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or chronic/major depression, often co-occurring with substance abuse, are offered a comprehensive program of psychosocial therapies and case management, including regular monitoring of psychotropic medicines by an M.D. specializing in psychiatry. Psychosocial rehabilitation, vocational training and housing programs have been expanded through the addition of our new Los Angeles-based Portals Division, which also offers residential services at three of its sites.
