    The Lighthouse of Houston is a private, nonprofit rehabilitation center dedicated to helping blind and visually impaired people live independently. The Lighthouse serves approximately 11,000 people each year. The goal for all Lighthouse programs is to provide opportunities for blind and visually impaired individuals to appraise their interests, capabilities and attitudes so that they may be empowered through rehabilitation to participate in educational, vocational and recreational activities that improve their quality of life
