    To empower and inspire our youth to become future leaders of tomorrow by providing them with the skills, opportunities and knowledge to change their future.

    About Us

    My name is Petrina Edmondson and I am the Founder and Executive Director of The Maurice AC Kirkwood Jr. Youth Foundation, a 501c3 community based organization. I founded the organization in 2016 to shape the pathway of youth in all counties of Michigan by helping them overcome life’s obstacles. Our target population is low-income youth ages 11-17 and young adults in their first few years of college. Our life skills programs will include but not be limited to:

    Financial literacy - with a focus on enhancing their knowledge of credit, debt and saving;

    Workforce development - we will teach them resume writing, interviewing skills and how to dress for an interview; and

    Tutoring - with an emphasis on math, reading and science.
