  • Mission

Search Technical Advisory Team’s (STAT) mission is to improve rescue & recovery rates of missing persons by providing technology, a proven methodology, volunteerism, and education platforms to community members, local enforcement, medical staff, search and rescue teams. STAT is called when local government entities' protocol limits have been reached.. Local governments can only support 48- 72 hours and local search groups do not have the technology which STAT owns. Training and educating in search and rescue techniques are critical to search outcomes and safety.

    About Us

After a personal experience, the Search Tech Advisory Team was created to pay it forward. We want to share the technology, methodology and experience we gained through our first rescue with the world, and assist in the recovery of other missing persons. STAT draws on real-world search and rescue experience, plus technical expertise, to advise and support rescue efforts. The team is based in Hawaii which has treacherous terrain like gorges, canyons, ridges, cliffs, waterfalls and dense forests. STAT provides tools like off-the-grid local communication for voice and data, expertise on location to equip and train local communities in conducting an efficient and thorough search with the innovative technologies and practices that have been developed. STAT has helped with 20 searches in 2 years with an 80% success rate.
