About Us

The L.I.T.E. (Living Independently Through Employment) Program was created in 2007 to meet the needs of the low-income community in downtown Los Angeles assisting them with all aspects of searching for and obtaining employment. Funded by the city of Los Angeles, L.I.T.E. is part of Skid Row Development Corporation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services to low-income individuals.

The L.I.T.E. Program functions by assessing individuals’ skills and abilities, work history, and career interests in order to provide them with the individualized services they need. With both a self-directed and staff-assisted approach, clients gain the confidence, skills and experience of searching for employment on their own. Our staffs provide counseling and case management, computer training classes, life-skills training, and resume and interviewing workshops.
