Alexian Brothers Bonaventure House

About Us

For over 25 years Alexian Brothers Housing and Health Alliance has been serving people impacted by chronic diseases, including HIV/AIDS, in the Chicago metropolitan region, providing housing, comprehensive services, and spiritual care. Whether at The Harbor in Waukegan, IL, Bonaventure House on the North Side of Chicago or at Bettendorf Place on the South Side of Chicago, we transform the lives of people who are homeless and living with chronic diseases within a supportive, compassionate community.

At Alexian Brothers, we believe that all individuals are created in God's image and deserve to be treated with respect. Every individual has a place and every individual has the right to be cared for in society. It's that unwavering philosophy that guides every aspect of the Alexian Brothers mission. For over 800 years Alexian Brothers has been on the front lines of caregiving, providing for the marginalized of society. We treated victims of the plague in 12th century Europe, sent caregivers to battlefield hospitals in times of warfare, and ministered to victims of cholera in Chicago.
