El Monte Promise Foundation

The El Monte Promise Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on creating a seamless cradle to college pathway for students in El Monte and surrounding neighborhoods to ensure that every child reaches their full potential. 

Our locally-run effort unites local governments, school districts, community organizations, businesses, parents, and community leaders to actively coordinate systems and mobilize resources for the educational benefit of our youth. El Monte Promise Foundation has identified four key initiatives to help make college a reality.

Cradle to College Pathway – Ensuring there are systems in place to provide students and their families the tools, information and resources to pursue higher education.

Community Engagement – Engaging residents and developing partnerships to facilitate communication between parents, schools, and stakeholders.

Financial Education for College – Supporting our community and its students to improve their understanding of the financial world and financing a college education.

Scholars Savings Program – Providing families the opportunity to start saving for a college education from a young age.

Our initiatives rely on research driven and context specific practices that meet the needs of local community. As part of our cradle to college pathway approach, we engage students, teachers, families, and our overall city community as valued and necessary members of college preparation and access.
