The Cultural Research and Arts Foundation where Teaching meets Talent (CRAFTT) is an interactive nonprofit organization located in Alexandria, Virginia that combines scholarship with creative expression. CRAFTT aims to initiate a wholistic approach to Cultural Studies/Arts throughout its diverse communities. The wholistic approach is comprised of illuminating the history, music, food, and other creative expressions found within multicultural groups residing in the Atlantic World. In CRAFTT, Cultural Studies and Arts are highlighted through community lectures, open forums, theme-based activities/events, seminars, and hands-on workshops.
Within community and academic institutions, CRAFTT programs present opportunities for students to receive study abroad scholarships as well as participate in alternative after-school programs. In the arts, creative musicians, dancers, and artists receive the opportunity to showcase their cultural talents as well as collaborate with scholars who specialize in their art form. Collectively, CRAFTT attempts to activate community involvement through creativity, discussion, and action.
