Mission
Girls Health Ed is a 501(c)(3) organization providing accurate and comprehensive health education programming to girls and young women ages 8-17. Girls Health Ed is a volunteer, community based organization. We exist to help girls make healthy, informed decisions about their lives by having teaching fellows from relevant fields teach seminars in local schools and community centers. Currently we operate in Washington, DC, New York City, Los Angeles, Nairobi, Kenya and Kogelo, Kenya.
About Us
Girls Health Ed provides educational workshops to girl youth, emphasizing 4 key aspects including nutrition & body image, fitness, personal care/hygiene and reproductive health. We want to assist schools that are not able to have PE, health education and other supplemental yet crucial classes due to lack of funding, as well as to help girls and young women who are not able to obtain information on their health from their home environments. We hope to instill confidence through knowledge-girls who are exposed to our program walk away with something valuable that they are able to use as a reference throughout their adult lives.
