About Us

One in four people develop some kind of mental illness—such as depression, anxiety, or bipolar—at some point in their lives. While 70% of people with mental illness want to and CAN work, 90% are unemployed. HERO House is committed to the vocational and social recovery of adults in King County who live with chronic mental illness. We assist, support, and empower our members to achieve their goals of independence and rejoining their communities. We restore hope and dignity through education, advocacy, pre-vocational skill building, socialization, employment placement, and ongoing support. Membership is free to adults with mental illness.

HERO House has been an accredited member of Clubhouse International since 2008. We are one of 172 clubhouses in the United states and one of 300 clubhouses in 33 countries around the world dedicated to helping those with mental illness get back on their feet and succeed. HERO House is the proud recipient of the 2013 King County Exemplary Service Award for Advocacy and Social Inclusion.
