About Us

The mission of St. Vincent Meals on Wheels (STVMOW) is to prepare and deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors and other vulnerable residents across Los Angeles regardless of age, illness, disability, race, religion, or ability to pay. Established in 1977, STVMOW is the largest privately funded meal program in the country. We provide a lifeline of healthy meals and daily home visits to more than 1,900 homebound seniors and vulnerable adults who cannot shop or cook for themselves; most are living below the poverty level struggling with food insecurity. We serve approximately 1,865 meals per day. In addition to a hot meal, some clients also receive a cold supper. Those who depend on us for everything they eat also receive breakfast. We accommodate special diets (e.g., vegetarian, Renal, etc.) and currently have no waiting list.
