  • Mission

Activate Green is a youth-led environmental organization founded at Brookhouse Schools in Kenya, focused on empowering local communities through education and climate action. Under the leadership of Thayu Wainaina, we’ve grown from school-based initiatives to global outreach, including tree planting, waste management drives, and educational programs in children's homes and schools. We align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 13 (Climate Action), aiming to raise awareness and build capacity for climate resilience among youth, women, and marginalized communities. Our mission is to create a clean, sustainable future through grassroots engagement and global partnerships.

    About Us

Activate Green is a youth-led nonprofit environmental trust founded at Brookhouse Schools in Nairobi, Kenya. We began with tree planting and waste management projects, growing into a global movement focused on empowering underserved communities to take climate action. Our International Representatives Program engages youth worldwide, while our GreenPath Webinar Series has reached over 300 participants, sparking climate conversations and action. We’ve raised over KES 300,000 (approx. USD 2,300) through the Rhino Charge in support of water tower conservation. With strong partnerships, including Greener is Cleaner (Korea), ECB Sustainable Youth (India), and civic organizations in Nairobi, we continue to drive community-led solutions for sustainability. Guided by a team of dedicated trustees, we’re committed to building an inclusive, global network of changemakers.
