  • Mission

    Our mission is to create a community of authors who strive for peace, justice, and dignity for all people. Within the walls of 108 School of Authors, we will nurture all students' emotional growth and instill a lifelong desire to learn through supports and high expectations for all. We are committed to delivering an authentic curricula focused on real world issues. Through writing, rich discussions, and a whole child approach, we empower our pre-K through 8th grade East Harlem students to become advocates and role models for our community.

    About Us

    108 School of Authors (formerly P.S.108 Assemblyman Angelo Del Toro Educational Complex) a 21st Century Community School is located in vibrant East Harlem on Madison Avenue between 108th and 109th streets, Our Pre-K to 8th Grade school has approximately 456 students. Parents are an important part of our school community. They are involved in leadership positions within the school and work together with teachers and staff to ensure that all of our children get the education they deserve. We have a sustainability program, a community garden on site and Middle school students participate in morning restorative circles. For the 2018-2019 school year we are implementing a wellness program focused on healthy nutrition and fitness, providing daily academic tutoring and monthly Parent Workshops.
