    About Us

We are looking for writers in an exciting but challenging program monitoring and reporting on court cases in the local courts as well as reporting on daily criminal/social justice news.

Interns are sent into the courtroom to take notes, monitor cases, and report on the happenings as well as record observations about current court cases. This internship will provide students the opportunity to gain experience in the courthouse via watching and monitoring cases as well as experience writing articles for a local online publication.

We have opportunities for both college students and high schoolers to participate in our program. We ask all interns to commit to 15 hours a week for 3 months. We have an eight-hour training session over four days for all interested interns. We also have a required weekly meeting.

College Course Credit is available with arrangements with the institution.

Please email us with a cover letter, resume, and a minimum 500-word writing sample to internship@davisvanguard.org. WE DO NOT TAKE ANY APPLICATIONS FROM VOLUNTEERMATCH, if you are interested you must send your materials to the email address above!
