Long Beach Opera (LBO) is internationally known for its bold and unconventional repertory. As the oldest opera company in the Los Angeles region, LBO has a long tradition of creating some of the most innovative art that opera has to offer.

Long Beach Opera is committed to advancing the frontiers of opera by presenting rare and overlooked works from the beginning of opera to modern, visionary works. All of our productions emphasize a contemporary relevance and incorporate innovative staging in an effort to expand the public’s perception and appreciation of opera and music-theater.

Through outreach and affordable ticket prices, LBO is committed to making opera more accessible to ethnically and economically diverse communities. LBO is also dedicated to instilling a love for the arts in youth through our education program, Opera Encounter.
