    Friends of the Gamelan (FROG) invites Chicagoans to experience

    the rich performing arts of Indonesia.

    About Us

    Since 1980, Friends of the Gamelan (FROG) has been Chicago’s leading resource for Indonesian gamelan. Today, FROG has two ensembles, dedicated to Javanese and Balinese music and dance, respectively.

    FROG's programmatic goals are to: 1) expand awareness in Chicago and beyond of traditional Indonesian music, dance, and culture; 2) deliver accessible, exhilarating, world-class programs and performances driven by Indonesian performing arts; and 3) provide a platform for diverse performers to hone their craft and appreciate one another for their talents.
