  • Mission

Friends of the Children – SF Bay Area is a chapter of a nationwide organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of generational poverty through salaried, professional mentoring. The national organization was founded in 1993. Our chapter began serving San Francisco Bay Area children in 2017.

    About Us

Friends of the Children is a nationwide organization that breaks the cycle of generational poverty through one to one professional mentorship over the course of 12- ½ years, no matter what. Our chapter is in the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco, historically the city’s most impoverished community. We are currently serving 64 of the most vulnerable children here, and plan to grow our impact to 500 in the next ten years.
