About Us

 Foundation Background

The Weinberg Foundation grants approximately $100 million each year to nonprofits that provide direct services to low-income and vulnerable individuals and families, primarily in the US and Israel. The Weinberg Foundation administers most of its grant funding in its priority communities: Maryland, Northeastern Pennsylvania, Greater Chicago, Hawaii, and Israel.

The Foundation is committed to funding nonprofits in the Jewish community as well as the community-at-large. In particular, the Foundation focuses on helping low-income older adults to age in their communities with independence and dignity. Other funding goals for the Foundation include preparing the workforce for 21st century jobs, providing high quality education for children, increasing the independence and integration of people with disabilities, ensuring that people’s basic needs are met, and supporting military members and their families.
