AdoptOneBlock's mission is simple: We make it easy for you to be a great environmental steward when and how you want in your neighborhood.

We are reimagining civic engagement and the way communities come together to care for the spaces we share. By delivering free cleanup supplies directly to volunteers, we remove traditional barriers to volunteering and empower people to take action in the neighborhoods they love most.

Imagine: no scheduling volunteer shifts, no commuting to volunteer, no organizations to join, and no fundraising requirements. We provide the tools, support, and community connections that help create cleaner neighborhoods while strengthening community pride and connection.

Since launching in 2020, nearly 11,000 Block Ambassadors (volunteers) have adopted and regularly care for over 13,000 blocks throughout Oregon and Washington. Our Block Brigade program brings together small teams of Block Ambassadors to tackle public spaces that need a greater level of care. We also host two large-scale volunteer events each year through our We Believe in Portland program, which engages corporate teams and community partners in cleanup efforts throughout downtown Portland and the Central Eastside.
