The humanitarian situation in Syria continues to deteriorate. More and more people are being made destitute as the crisis continues. In response, Rahma procures and sends shipments of food, clothes and other staple items to the people affected by the conflict in Syria and the neighboring countries.
Food items include rice, wheat, sugar, oil, milk, eggs, meat, pasta and canned products.
Non food items include medication, clothing, blankets and shoes.
In 2015, education was the third sector deeply affected by the crisis. According to the United Nations’ Syria Response Plan, 4.5 million people including children and adolescents were in need. Rahma has developed an educational program to support elementary schools inside Syria and neighboring countries, Lebanon and Turkey. The education programs enable displaced children, first to sixth grade, to continue their education, support teachers with salaries.
Rahma established its orphan sponsorship program to allow orphans stay with a loving guardian and help that guardian take care of the orphan’s needs.
