Twin Rivers YMCA
The Twin Rivers YMCA mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The YMCA is one of the nation’s leading nonprofits strengthening communities. Today, across the United States, YMCAs are making a difference in three key areas of focus: Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social responsibility. Across the U.S., 2,687 YMCAs engage 21 million men, women and children – regardless of age, income or background – to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve the nation’s health and well-being, and provide opportunities to give back and support neighbors. Anchored in more than 10,000 communities, the YMCA has the long-standing relationships and physical presence not just to promise, but to deliver, lasting personal and social change. The YMCA is a powerful association of men, women, and children of all ages and from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion: to strengthen the foundations of community. We offer a variety of programs at the YMCA including swim lessons, after school programs as well as group exercise classes. We believe all kids have potential and should have the opportunity to discover who they are, express themselves, and be nurtured in all their possibility. We provide programs in child care; education and leadership; swim, sports, and play; and camp that create safe, authentic, and positive relationships with well-trained and caring role models and that teach life skills and values, regardless of program or activity. Through our safe, supportive and nurturing programs, we sow seeds of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility that take root in children and adults. From this, children become achievers, families grow closer, and the community at large becomes more whole. The YMCA is more than brick and mortar, it’s a movement of individuals that have a compassion to move a community. It’s the building block to many friendships, it’s the place families come to spend quality time together.
