Our mission is to support, honour, and empower those in developing nations in order to expand educational opportunities, basic health services, and tools for sustainable economic development

CEF is a non-traditional CRA registered NGO that generates most of its revenues through the production and sale of “Stock Photography”. Based out of Vancouver, we have connections with those in the stock photography community in the UK, the US and across Canada. We have funded projects in nine countries including Guatemala, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Cambodia, India, Zambia, Kenya, Peru and South Africa. Our next Executive Director will be asked to help lead CEF to its next levels of achievement in revenue generation and contribution to the world. Key functions of the position are included in the Position Description.

 

 Key Skills sought include:

a) Excellent communications skills including knowledge of social media and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

b) Excellent management skills. The ability to manage both the social venture side of CEF and the many volunteers and professionals involved is essential

c) Experience in the Creative Community and an understanding of creative production issues in commercial photography or other creative arenas is a valuable asset

d) An ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the Board and our many volunteers, including photographers

e) A proven track record of managing volunteers is an asset

f) A commitment to best practices and to acting ethically and fairly

Scope of Position

This position is envisioned to be a contract position of approximately 25 – 30 hours per week. The position will report to the Executive and the Board of Directors and will be responsible for overseeing the work of a number of volunteers and contractors. Compensation will be discussed with the successful candidate. As CEF does not maintain an office the successful candidate person will be responsible to work independently in their own work environment.
