Riverside Plaza Tenants Association (RPTA) empowers residents of Cedar Riverside and surrounding communities by providing programs and services that foster education, workforce development, youth leadership, and community well-being. We are dedicated to creating opportunities for immigrant and refugee families, supporting young people in achieving their academic and career goals, and promoting equity, inclusion, and resilience through culturally responsive initiatives.

Riverside Plaza Tenants Association (RPTA) is a community-driven nonprofit rooted in the heart of Cedar Riverside, one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Minneapolis. We serve primarily East African, immigrant, and refugee families, with a strong focus on youth, adults, and families who face barriers to education, employment, and opportunity.

Our values are grounded in equity, empowerment, and community voice. We believe that every resident—whether a young student, a new immigrant learning English, or an adult seeking career opportunities—deserves access to the tools and resources to thrive.

Through programs like YouthBuild workforce training, after-school tutoring, ESL classes, and community wellness initiatives, RPTA connects people to education, skills, and opportunities that build brighter futures. We support young people in exploring careers in construction, IT, and healthcare; help adults improve their language and workplace skills; and foster safe, supportive spaces for families to grow and succeed.

At RPTA, we are more than a service provider—we are a hub of connection and resilience. Our mission is to uplift the voices of our residents, strengthen community ties, and create pathways for long-term success and self-sufficiency.
