New-York Historical Society

The New-York Historical Society collects, preserves, and interprets, for the broadest possible public, material relevant to the history of the United States in general and of New York State and City in particular.

The New-York Historical Society is home to New York City's oldest museum and one of the nation's most distinguished independent research libraries. It is dedicated to presenting exhibitions and public and education programs and fostering research that reveal the dynamism of history and its influence on the world of today.
