Sisters of Charity - Halifax

About Us

The Sisters of Charity-Halifax is a religious organization composed of vowed women religious who belong to the Sisters of Charity-Halifax congregation. It's mission is:

“Corporately and individually, we strive to develop a sensitivity toward those whom the world oppresses, to right in great ways or small the injustices we see around us, to heal the wounds of the embittered, to speak peace to the troubled, to urge the mighty to right wrongs that we may bring the compassion of Christ to all whose lives we touch.” (From the Constitutions 43)

The SC Centre is located in Halifax, NS. There are two retirement residences owned by SC-H in the United States, one of which is located in Wellesley, MA at Mount Saint Vincent. Retired sisters live here in either a rest home (Marillac Residence) or a nursing home (Elizabeth Seton Residence) co-located on the property.
