    Our mission is to provide cutting edge, inquiry based learning experiences for P-12 students, state-of-the-art professional development for P-12 teachers, and inventive STEM challenges for family groups- all aimed at advancing the learning of STEM concepts that translate into skills that address social, economic, and environmental issues.

    About Us

    The Maritime Explorium is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit and is chartered with the New York State Department of Education. Our vision is to be a leader in STEM discovery, learning, and innovation that will shape the intellect, social values, and principles of future generations. Our curriculum, exhibits, and educational approach are unique by design, developed to spark inventive solutions, build confidence by embracing a "fail-forward" concept and foster teamwork. We are recognized as Long Island's Family Maker Space and we continue to expand our programming to include professional teacher development and training to meet the goals of the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS).
