    The Inter-American Parliamentary Group on Population and Development (IAPG) is a non-profit international membership organization with a Secretariat based in New York, open to active parliamentarians from the Americas to stimulate an open dialogue on population and development issues. Since its creation in 1983, the IAPG has served as a clearinghouse of information, promoting the exchange of experiences and lessons learned among parliamentarians from the Americas and other regions. The IAPG articulates human rights and gender equity principles within a broad human development agenda that includes reproductive health and rights issues, through advocacy, information dissemination, networking, capacity building, and technical assistance.
