Jumpstart UCLA

  • About Us

Jumpstart is a national nonprofit and Americorps program working toward the day that every child enters school prepared to succeed.

We still have some volunteer Reader's Club positions available! Read to preschool children for an hour a week! Positions are open to UCLA students as well as community members, and only require a one quarter minimum committment. Contact Ayla for more information.

We will begin hiring UCLA students for our 2012/13 Americorps program starting in February 2012! As part of this program students will work on a team of their peers for 12-14 hours a week both teaching in the classroom and preparing lessons. Students have the opportunity to receive professional training and to get direct teaching experience with children in Headstart and state-funded preschool classrooms in Westwood, Santa Monica, and Venice.
