L'Arche Frederick

In L'Arche, people with and without intellectual disabilities share life and friendships in a community strengthened by faith. We believe in a world where differences are celebrated and everyone belongs. Since 2012, we have built an inclusive community alongside our neighbors with and without disabilities through social programs and regular prayer gatherings. Beyond Frederick, we belong to an international Federation of 156 L'Arche communities in 38 countries. Together, we contribute to a world where relationships are forged across differences and people with disabilities are valued as peers, friends, and leaders.

L'Arche introduces a new model for community living in Frederick, Maryland that is holistic, relationally-centered, and steeped in inclusion and belonging. Life in a L'Arche home centers on mutual relationships with people with disabilities. People with and without disabilities choose to live together as peers, contributing to an environment of cooperation, hospitality, and family.
