Asociacion Civil Sol Naciente (Rising Sun) is an Argentine NGO located in villa 1-11-14, Buenos Aires, that works primarily with issues of gender violence. The organization runs a shelter for women in situations of homelessness and gender violence, a local soup kitchen that serves 400 children daily, a child-care center for the women in the shelter and women living in the neighborhood, and a computer center, where shelter residents learn important skills.
