About Us

Models of entrepreneurship have many tools to help organizations think in new ways about how to be sustainable and scalable. We can’t imagine an area that is in stronger need of entrepreneurial thinking than the nonprofit space. Notley uses knowledge, collaboration, human capital and financial capital to catalyze the growth and expansion of innovative organizations making positive change in the world.

Notley operates as an engine for social good. We leverage the profits of traditional investments in real estate, venture funds, startups and donations to fund our growing community efforts across various sectors of need. Our team supports multiple initiatives on a sliding scale and provides seed capital or grants to other organizations focused on social change. We’re building an ecosystem focused on sharing entrepreneurial best practices and resources.

When Notley was founded by BuildASign co-founder, Dan Graham, nonprofit executive Lisa Graham, and entrepreneur Matt McDonnell, they wanted to form a new type of philanthropic organization that would foster opportunities for the larger community to join in their effort for greater impact. They set out to create a platform that brings entrepreneurial thinking to the nonprofit space.

The beauty of entrepreneurial thinking is that when you are successful, solutions scale in incredible ways to solve problems faster and more sustainable than traditional philanthropy ever could. At Notley, we see this happening daily within our ecosystem.

Notley more than doubled its size in 2019 to over 30 people working daily to energize a larger ecosystem. We are a network of thousands of people and organizations across the country.
