Rockingham District Partners In Ministry
RDPIM helps people from Richmond, Scotland and Robeson counties become empowered so they can better their lives and reach out of poverty. The organization has three main components: substandard home repair, a youth program, and a Resource and Referral Center.
The substandard home repair, Rockingham Outreach and Recovery (ROAR), works to repair and rehabilitate homes with Richmond, Scotland, and Robeson counties. These homes have major problems including water damage, sinking floors, holes in the siding or roof, and other safety issues. Our work teams go into these homes, which are typically done in one or two days.
Our youth program, Youth Empowered to Succeed (YES), works with high school students as they transitition and are formed into leaders and successful young adults. In addition, a summer program is held for younger youth and youth are tutored during the school year.
Our Resource and Referral in Gibson is a location for many activities, services, and programs. The center offers referrals, senior activities, a food pantry, clothes closet, community activities, a community garden, help with filling out applications for assistance, and pastoral counseling. As the center continues to grow, more programs will be added.
